White Cloud – Cookson 12M – History
The legendary Cookson 12M 'White Cloud' was built for Mr. Cookson and leapt onto the international scene as part of the New Zealand Team that won the 1998 Kenwood Cup in Hawaii.
The boat was purchased in Hawaii and moved to the Pacific Northwest where she continued to be a top competitor with many wins to her credit.
In 2017 she was relocated to San Diego under new ownership and underwent a full upgrade program including wheel steering conversion, keel and rudder cutters, new rudder and new sail upgrades.
White Cloud competed in the 2019 Transpac and has been a two-time class winner in the San Diego to Puerta Vallarta Race.
Equipment
White Cloud is fully equipped for offshore Cat 1 racing with the exception of a liferaft that would be rented for offshore races. There is a liferaft holder in the aft of the cockpit
